The only people who love and benefit from regulation are those being regulated. <br /><br />The easiest way to become a dominant force in a market place is not to be the best or create the best product, it is to have the government destroy your competitors. Make regulations so unbearable that start up competition is impossible or smaller competitors can't grown.<br /><br />Maybe even use the government to execute your competitors. Goldman has been the biggest beneficiary of all the government programs. Not only did they use government money to buy up assets on the cheap, they used their government to rub out their top competition. Bear and Lehman were mob hits. Goldman executed their competitors.
