Michael L...And we criticize 3rd world governments!

Michael Lewis Summarizes Financial Reform Infiltration

To: Wall Street chief executives

From: Your man in Washington

Re: Embracing the status quo

Our earnings are robust, our compensation has returned to its naturally high levels and, as a result, we have very nearly regained our grip on the imaginations of the most ambitious students at the finest universities — and from that single fact many desirable outcomes follow.

Thus, we have almost fully recovered from what we have agreed to call The Great Misfortune. In the next few weeks, however, ill-informed senators will meet with ill-paid representatives to reconcile their ill-conceived financial reform bills. This process cannot and should not be stopped. The American people require at least the illusion of change. But it can be rendered harmless to our interests.

http://tinyurl.com/27xo3vlAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5724181159639068489.post-35764957956450299412010-05-31T11:53:09.842-04:002010-05-31T11:53:09.842-04:00These guys are above the law...
Our President is ...These guys are above the law...

Our President is of course relaxing in Chicago, the seat of corruption in which Mayor Daley appears to have committed an act of felonious assault:

Daley picked up a bayonet-equipped rifle and told the Chicago Reader reporter, “If I put this up your butt, you’ll find out how effective it is. If we put a round up your, you-know. . . .”

Was Daley arrested? Nope. But a man in San Jose, California, who left a phone message at Daley’s office containing the precise same threat is now facing extradition to Chicago – to face charges of threatening a public official.

If that’s not one of the clearest statements yet about how there are two bodies of law – the law on the books that applies to all “ordinary people”, yet which does not apply to any public official or Wall Street Bankster, including Mayor Daley, Congress or even the President, I don’t know what is.

http://fedupusa.org/2010/05/31/memorial-day-thoughts/Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
